For the first time the TIF Illumination Project exposed all the TIFs inside one Illinois school district outside of Chicago. Illinois School District 300 is in the western suburbs. It's our 6th biggest district with 23,000 students. It also contains seven active TIFs - including the special TIF-like zone created especially for Sears. How much did those TIFs take away from the public school system there? You'll have to download the presentation to find out. The presentation was given at the 2015 convention for the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO), on April 30, 2015.
